The Mad Tailor
Welcome to the Temporary Internet home of the Mad Tailor! Scott’s working on a more formal website but until that is up and running feel free to look around here at his amazing work!
Corsets:
Red/Brown Bodice-Corset
At the client’s request, the piece has large diameter grommets in the front and back, multiple color panels ranging from red china silk to faux embossed brown leather, and ruffled cap shoulder pads that can attach via smaller gauge grommets at the front and back of the corset. For variety sake, Scott did four caps so that the client could mix and match the colors at will. All colors and fabrics were chosen by the client.

(the white fabric rucked up around the top and in back in these photos is the client’s chemise that she had on the day of her final fitting)
Plastic and Zippers- based on an original design by the client and executed by Scott. This is made of blue, clear, heavy weight, plastic and zippers

Purple Satin – in process

Red/Black complete:
At the client’s request the design in the fabric was matched in the pattern pieces. If you look closely you can see that even though there are seam lines throughout the corset, the image design is consistent throughout the garment.

Stained glass complete:
The main fabric here is a burn-out silk velvet that shimmers in the light giving it the iridescent quality of being under water. This corset was done as a surprise for the woman in the photo. Measurements were acquired and passed on to Scott who made the corset without any opportunity to test fit it on her. Worked out pretty well!

Rubber Ducky Kilt:
Yes. He really did make a kilt out of cotton print fabric with rubber duckies on it…. here is the proof…

the fabric before he cut it
The final kilt has pleated cotton fabric with uncut tan leather waistline and cotton belt loops. The bottom hem was surged but otherwise left uneven on purpose.
